Vereistes

• A minimum of Grade 10 or equivalent.
• A valid driver's license.
• An appropriate Trade Test Certificate (Red Seal) in Diesel Mechanical.
• Experience in vehicle, heavy vehicle, construction plant, earthmoving equipment or related mechanical maintenance environments will be an added advantage.
• Applicants are required to be able to perform duties at workshops, districts and field/operational sites.
• A post-matric qualification will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge and Skills: Technical analysis and fault finding; vehicle, plant and equipment maintenance; diesel, mechanical, basic electrical and hydraulic systems; maintenance and repair practices; technical and legal compliance; technical report writing; computer-aided technical applications; problem solving; decision making; teamwork; communication; computer skills; planning and organising.

• Inspect, diagnose, service, maintain, repair and test vehicles, plant and equipment in accordance with prescribed standards and schedules.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance and provide breakdown and field support where required.
• Ensure quality of completed work; maintain job cards, maintenance records and registers; compile relevant reports and provide inputs into operational planning.
• Ensure the safe use of tools and equipment and compliance with applicable technical and safety requirements.
• Supervise and mentor support personnel where required and maintain technical expertise through continuous development.
