Vereistes

  • Bachelor's of Science Honours-graad soos deur SAQA erken, plus drie (3) jaar se ervaring na kwalifikasie in die natuurwetenskappe.
  • Verpligte registrasie by SACNASP as 'n professionele Natuurwetenskaplike.
  • Kennis van klimaatsverandering-aanpassing en -versagting.
  • Moet die beleids- en wetgewingsraamwerk wat besoedeling en afvalbestuur reël, verstaan.
  • Degelijke analitiese en navorsingsvaardighede.
  • Vermoë om aktiwiteite, insluitend projekte en beleidsake, te bestuur en te beplan.
  • Kennis en ervaring in kontrakbestuur.
  • Vermoë om beleide, strategieë en wetgewing te ontwikkel, te interpreteer en toe te pas.
  • Goeie interpersoonlike verhoudingsvaardighede, belanghebbende-betrokkenheid, strategiese vermoë en leierskapsvaardighede.
  • Kennis van National Waste Management Strategy.
  • Die ampsdraer moet in staat wees om onafhanklik en doeltreffend onder druk te werk, sowel as deel van 'n multidissiplinêre span. 'n Geldige bestuurderslisensie en bereidwilligheid om te reis.

Pligte

  • Hersien en ontleed geohidrologiese inligting ter ondersteuning van die goedkeuring van ingenieurstekeninge en -ontwerpe wat vir nuwe afvalbestuurslisensiesies, variasies en 24G-aansoeke ingedien word.
  • Ontwikkel en implementeer metodes, beleide, stelsels en prosedures vir geohidrologiese inligtingsprodukte en -aansoeke wat gebruik moet word in die hersiening en ontleding van geohidrologiese studies.
  • Versamel, ontleed en versprei geohidrologiese inligting om die Direktoraat te ondersteun in die hersiening van aansoeke en die assessering van die prestasie van gelisensieerde terreine.
  • Verskaf ondersteuning by die goedkeuring van ontwerptekeninge en ingenieurswese vir die uitbreiding van gelysde afvalbedrywighede of enige wysiging aan gelisensieerde fasiliteite.
  • Verwerk registrasie in terme van National Norms and Standards en die uitsluitingsmagtiging.
  • Hersien klimaatsverandering-geohidrologie en klimaatsveranderingstudies wat afvallisensie-aansoeke vergesel.

Furthermore, Shortlisted candidates must provide proof of successful completion of the course. All shortlisted candidates, including the SMS, shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements and the other must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment. All shortlisted candidates for SMS posts will be subjected to a technical exercise and interview. Following the technical exercise and interview, a maximum of three (3) SMS candidates will undergo psychometric assessments to assess cognitive capabilities, behavioural preferences, emotional intelligence, and integrity. Persons appointed will be subjected to a security clearance, the signing of performance agreement and employment contract. The Department reserves the right not to make an appointment.
