Geotegniese ingenieur benodig om geotegniese inligting te hersien en te analiseer ter ondersteuning van afvalbestuurslisensie-aansoeke, met ECSA-registrasie as vereiste.

Vereistes

• Baccalaureusgraad in Ingenieurswese of 'n tersaaklike kwalifikasie soos deur SAQA erken, plus drie (3) jaar se post-kwalifikasie-ervaring in 'n verwante veld.
• Verpligte registrasie by ECSA as 'n professionele Ingenieur.
• Moet die beleids- en wetgewende raamwerk wat besoedeling en afvalbestuur regeer, verstaan.
• Deeglike analitiese en navorsingsvaardighede.
• Vermoë om aktiwiteite, insluitend projekte en beleidsaangeleenthede, te bestuur en te beplan.
• Kennis van die Nasionale Afvalbestuurstrategie.
• Vermoë om beleide, strategieë en wetgewing te ontwikkel, te interpreteer en toe te pas.
• Kennis en ervaring in watergebruik, afvalbestuur, ontwerp van waterhulpbroninfrastruktuur en ontwerp, bedryf en hersieningsprosedures van mynfasiliteite.
• Kennis van die Afvalklassifikasie- en Bestuursregulasies.
• Kennis van Nasionale Norme en Standaarde vir die Assessering van Afval vir Stortingsterreinverwydering.
• Kennis van Norme en Standaarde vir die Verwydering van Afval na 'n Stortingsterrein.
• Goeie interpersoonlike verhoudingsvaardighede, belanghebbende-betrokkenheid, strategiese vermoë en leierskapsvaardighede.
• Kennis van tersaaklike ingenieursstandaarde.
• Die ampsdraer moet in staat wees om onafhanklik en doeltreffend onder druk sowel as deel van 'n multidissiplinêre span te werk. 'n Geldige bestuurderslisensie en bereidwilligheid om te reis.

Pligte

• Hersien en analiseer geotegniese inligting om die goedkeuring van ingenieurswerktekeninge en ontwerpe wat vir afvalbestuurslisensie-aansoeke, wysigings en 24G-aansoeke ingedien is, te ondersteun.
• Ontwikkel en implementeer metodologieë, beleide, stelsels en prosedures vir geotegniese inligtingsprodukte en toepassings wat gebruik sal word in die hersiening en ontleding van geotegniese studies.
• Versamel, analiseer en versprei geotegniese inligting om die Direktoraat te ondersteun in die hersiening van aansoeke en die evaluering van die prestasie van gelisensieerde terreine.
• Ontwikkel en implementeer 'n siftingsinstrument vir tekeninge en ontwerpe wat by afvalaansoeke gevoeg word.
• Sif ingenieurswerktekeninge en ontwerpe wat by afvalaansoeke by die departement ingedien word.
• Ontwikkel en implementeer 'n saakbestuurstelsel vir ingenieurswerktekeninge wat met afvalaansoeke ingedien word.
• Verwerk registrasies ooreenkomstig die Nasionale Norme en Standaarde vir Afval.
• Verskaf ondersteuning by die ontwikkeling van riglyne om te verseker dat ingenieursontwerpe en -tekeninge aan ingenieursstandaarde voldoen.
• Verwerk registrasie vir Nasionale Norme en Standaarde en uitsluitingsmagtiging.
• Hersiening van Geotegnieke studies en klimaatsveranderingsstudies vir ingediende afvalaansoeke.
• Ontwikkel riglyne vir klimaatsveranderingsstudies in verband met afvalaktiwiteite.

Furthermore, Shortlisted candidates must provide proof of successful completion of the course. All shortlisted candidates, including the SMS, shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements and the other must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment. All shortlisted candidates for SMS posts will be subjected to a technical exercise and interview. Following the technical exercise and interview, a maximum of three (3) SMS candidates will undergo psychometric assessments to assess cognitive capabilities, behavioural preferences, emotional intelligence, and integrity.
