Vereistes
- Graad 12. 'n Baccalaureusgraad in Maatskaplike Werk wat professionele registrasie by die South African Council for Social Services Profession (SACSSP) as 'n Maatskaplike Werker moontlik maak.
- Rekenaarvaardigheid. 'n Geldige bestuurderslisensie.
- Die volgende kennis en vaardighede word vir aanstelling vereis: Begrip van maatskaplike dinamika, menslike gedrag en maatskaplike stelsels.
- Maatskaplike ingryping en bemagtiging.
- Maatskaplike ondersteuning.
- Beskerming van kwesbare individue.
- Begrip van Maatskaplike Werk-wetgewing.
- Kommunikasie (skriftelik en mondelings).

Pligte
- Lewer maatskaplike werksdienste deur die bevordering van maatskaplike verandering, probleemoplossing in menslike verhoudings en die bemagtiging en bevryding van mense om maatskaplike welsyn te verbeter.
- Om maatskaplike werksdienste te lewer ter beskerming van mense wat kwesbaar, blootgestel aan risiko is en nie in staat is om hulself te beskerm nie.
- Voer assesserings uit om toestande in individue, groepe, gesinne en gemeenskappe te identifiseer wat relevante ingrypings regverdig.
- Identifiseer en doen aanbevelings oor die toepaslike ingrypings wat vereis word om die geïdentifiseerde toestande aan te spreek.
- Implementeer die aanbevole ingrypings deur deurlopende ondersteuning, berading, leiding en advies aan die geaffekteerde individue, groepe, gesinne en gemeenskappe te bied.
- Monitor en evalueer die doeltreffendheid van die aanbevole ingrypings, doen verslag oor vordering en identifiseer verdere gewysigde ingrypings om die geïdentifiseerde toestande aan te spreek.

NB: All shortlisted candidates including SMS, shall undertake two pre- entry assessments. One must be a practical exercise, and the other must be an Integrity (Ethical Conduct) Assessment. It will be expected of candidates to be available for interview process on a date, time and place as determined by the Department. Applicant(s) previous background/reference checks will be verified through contactable referees. Shortlisted candidate(s) will be required to undergo personnel suitability checks, which include criminal records, citizenship, financial credits, asset records, qualifications verification and vetting. The successful candidate will enter into an annual performance agreement. The candidate annually will be requested to disclose his/her financial interest.
