Chief Artisan Grade A (Electrical) pos wat elektriese onderhoud en infrastruktuur by Water and Sanitation-fasiliteite bestuur.

Vereistes

• 'n Toepaslike elektriese ambsgradegerifikat.
• Ten (10) jare na-kwalifikasie-ondervinding vereis as 'n ambsman/ambsman-voorman.
• Die openbaarmaking van 'n geldige, onvervalle bestuurderslisensie.
• Ondervinding in elektriese installasies.
• Moet rekenaargeletterd wees en volledig vaardig met Microsoft-pakkette.
• Veiligheidsinstruksies vir hoëspanningsapparatuur, ondervinding met hoëspanningsapparatuur, kennis van risikobestuur/beoordeling, selfbestuur en goeie probleemoplossingsvermoë.

Pligte

• Bestuur tegniese diens: bied leiding aan ondergeskiktes en help.
• Elektriese onderhoudspersoneel verantwoordelik vir onderhoud van departementale infrastruktuur.
• Verseker naleving van toepaslike wetgewing aangaande roetine- en voorkomende onderhoud op elektriese installasies.
• Doen aanbevelings aangaande die vereiste renovering van elektriese installasies om naleving van wetgewing te verseker.
• Toesig hou oor elektriese renovering wat deur kontrakteurs uitgevoer word.
• Verseker naleving van die OHS Act aangaande toetsing van kraanweë en elektriese toerusting.
• Voer interne gesondheids- en veiligheidsaudits uit.
• Ondersoek alle ongelukke en rapporteer aan bestuur en die Departement van Arbeid.
• Voer terreininsaksies uit en bied veiligheidsinduksietraining vir kontrakteurs.
• Verseker dat vereiste kennisgewings deur kontrakteurs by die Departement van Arbeid ingedien word wanneer werk namens die Departement van Water en Sanitasie uitgevoer word.
• Handhaaf en werk kwartaallikse Gesondheids- en Veiligheidsrapporte by.
• Help met samestelling en update van Risikobeoordeling vir die direktoraat.
• Verskaf insette vir begroting en fondse wat vereis word om naleving van OHS Act-vereistes vir installasies te verseker.
• Mensebestuur: toesig hou oor en evalueer prestasie van ondergeskiktes, finansiële bestuur.
• Bestuur administratiewe en verwante funksies.
• Handhaaf en bevorder kundigheid.

Candidates must complete a practical and theoretical test. Please be advised that the office will transition to a SANWRIA agency. All shortlisted candidates for SMS posts will be subjected to a technical exercise and interview. Following the technical exercise and interview, a maximum of three (3) SMS candidates will undergo psychometric assessments to assess cognitive capabilities, behavioural preferences, emotional intelligence, and integrity. A pre-entry certificate obtained from the National School of government is required prior to the appointment. All shortlisted candidates, including the SMS, shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements and the other must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment. Candidates will be required to complete a financial disclosure form and undergo security clearance. Foreigners or dual citizenship holders must provide a police clearance certificate from country of origin (only when shortlisted). The Department of Water Sanitation is an equal opportunity employer.
