Assistent-Direkteur wat biblioteekdienste van die Departement van Verdediging, beleidsgeving en die korporatiewe bibliotekprogram bestuur.

Vereistes

  • 'n Minimum van Graad 12 (NKW-vlak 4) of ekwivalent en 'n Diploma (NKW-vlak 6) in Inligtingswetenskap en Inligtingsbestuurwetenskap met 'n minimum van drie (3) jaar funksioneringservaring in 'n Biblioteek-/Registreerkantoore-/Argief-/Inligtingsbestuur- en Inligtingswetenskapsomgewing.
  • Spesiale vereistes (benodigde vaardighede): Die bevordering van die Grondwet van die Republiek van Suid-Afrika, 1996, die Wet op Bevordering van Toegang tot Inligting (PAIA), 2000 (Wet Nr. 2000), die Verdedigingswet 2002 (Wet Nr. 42 van 2002).
  • Die Wet op die Nasionale Argiewe- en Dokumentestediens van Suid-Afrika, 1996 (Wet Nr. 43 van 1996), Nasionale Argiefverorderings (126 van 24 Januarie 1997) en die Nasionale Ariefrinstruksies.
  • Die Wet op Openbare Finansiële Bestuur, 1982 (Wet Nr. 84 van 1982).
  • Die Wet op Elektroniese Kommunikasie en Transaksies, 2002 (Wet Nr. 25 van 2002).
  • SANS 11799:2005.
  • Inligting en Dokumentasie: Dokumentberging.
  • Vereistes vir Argief- en Biblioteekmateriaal.
  • Redelike kennis van kantoorprosedures vir argiefwerk, stelsels en prosedures vir argief- en rekordbestuur, veral opberging en instandhouding van rekorde.

Pligte

  • Die titularis sal verantwoordelik wees vir die bestuur van die korporatiewe VVD-biblioteekdiensprogram.
  • Beleide en prosedures vir VVD-biblioteke moet ontwikkel en in stand gehou word.
  • Bevorder- en bemarkingsplan vir VVD-biblioteke moet ontwikkel word.
  • Verseker dat VVD-biblioteke hul dienste aan hul onderskeie kliënte bemark, veral gedurende Biblioteekweek (Maart elke jaar) en Wêreldboekeddag (23ste April elke jaar) en READATHON-week (eerste van September elke jaar).
  • Koördineer 'n doeltreffende hulpbrondelingsstelsel vir VVD-biblioteke.
  • Verskaf funksionele ondersteuning aan VVD-biblioteke deur alle funksionele aangeleenthede wat biblioteekdiens in die VVD betref, by te woon. 'n Opleidingsprogram vir VVD-biblioteekpersoneel moet ontwikkel word.

Successful candidates will also be subjected to security clearance processes. The level of appointments is dependent upon, qualifications, relevant experience and research output. All shortlisted candidates, including SMS, shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One must be a practical exercise, and the other must be an Integrity (Ethical Conduct) Assessment. Selection panels shall score both technical exercises as an additional criterion in the interview process. All shortlisted candidates for SMS posts will be subjected to a technical exercise and interview. Following the technical exercise and interview, a maximum of three (3) SMS candidates will undergo psychometric assessments to assess cognitive capabilities, behavioural preference, emotional intelligence, and integrity. The competency assessment will be limited to successful candidates in the interview process only. Shortlisted candidates will be subjected to a personnel suitability checks (pre-employment screening) which may include social media profiles checks. A successful candidate will have to undergo a full security vetting while in the employ of the department and negative outcome shall nullify employment contract. Failure to submit the required documents will result in your application not being considered. Successful candidates will be required to disclose their financial interests within one (1) month of appointment.
